There is no area code 120 in North America. North American area codes (including those for the USA, Canada, etc.) never start with a 0 or a 1.
Three digit area codes are created to help route phone calls to specific region or geographical area in North America but these phone codes are restricted by certain rules and conventions that govern their use. One such rule is that area code within NANP can’t begin with the number 1.
This is because number 1 is reserved as a prefix for long distance calls in North America. This implies that you normally dial “1” before the area code and phone number when making a long distance call within the United States or Canada.
To avoid any confusion with long distance call prefixes and mis-routed calls and communication area codes are restricted to use number 1. These area codes can normally range from 201- 999.
Area codes in North American can only range from 201- 999.
You can’t receive a call from area code 120 in North America because there is no such area code. You should be caution to report such spam calls to your phone company or Federal Trade Commission.
